DES Selections

Curated photographic storytelling in series

DES Selections is a curated editorial program dedicated to photographic storytelling and the development of cohesive visual narratives. It provides a space for photographers to move beyond single images and create intentional series, reinforcing both individual practice and the DES photographic community.

Monthly Selection

Selected photographic series are chosen by the DES editorial team, on a rolling basis. From each selected series, three images are featured to highlight narrative clarity, sequencing, and visual cohesion, published within the magazine.

Toward a Printing Book

DES_Selections is also where we're testing something new: turning a selected series into a printed, small-run book. DES_Photomag is a registered non-profit — we don't have a budget to fund book production, so where this happens, it happens as a shared-cost collaboration between the photographer and DES_. We're starting with a single pilot title to see if the model works before offering it more broadly. Participation, when it opens up, will be invitation-only.

DES Selections is not a contest or ranking system. It is a curated editorial space focused on photographic intent, sequencing, and narrative. It supports photographers in developing meaningful series while strengthening the DES community.
